As ever, thank you for your curiosity about the Story of Add Libb.
OUR STORY

Libby Mitchell moved to Charleston, SC, in the Summer of 2005 after graduating from the University of Virginia. In 2007, bored by a hodgepodge of jobs, from working in an architecture firm, to framing pictures for an art gallery and riding a bike taxi, she began making handbags for fun in a well-lit attic studio space above her South of Broad apartment.
Having seen one of her bags on a girl's night out, an artist friend suggested she apply to be a vendor at the Charleston Farmer's Market, a local market that has frequently hit the list of Best Farmers Markets in the country for its diverse collection of artisan vendors. The following Spring, Add Libb was officially born and Libby quit all of her other gigs and began selling her bags at the market.

In the years that followed Libby's designs evolved and blossomed. She branched out into showcases at Charleston Fashion Week and eventually began traveling the country to exhibit at America's most prestiguous Fine Art Festivals, from Miami, FL, to Denver, CO, and everywhere in between. During these years she won several art festival awards and was also featured in Southern Living Magazine, Charleston Magazine, USA Today and Greenville News.

Libby was first introduced to Greenville, SC, when she exhibited at Artisphere, the city's premier art festival. Everything about the town was fabulous, from its vibrant downtown, to its kind inhabitants, and its positively celebrated art scene.
In 2019, Add Libb relocated with Libby to Greenville, SC, along with her husband, Dana, and her daughters, Mary Ann and Lucy. Dana was raised partly in Greenville, so it has been a blessing for Add Libb to be able to reinvest in a community that means something to the family.

Add Libb handbags can now be found at several boutiques and galleries throughout the Southeast, a list of which can be found on our Customer Care page. We are excited to now be making our handbags more accessible online, to those far and wide, from just a click away. For those who want to know more about Libby's beginnings, click the link below.
